Anoscopy For Hemorrhoids
Anoscopy is one of the methods in which a doctor or proctologist will examine a patients Rectum. If you suffer from hemorrhoids then your doctor might perform the Anoscopy procedure.
How is the Anoscopy procedure done Before the Anoscopy is done you will have to take a laxative or enema to clear the bowels. Post a digital rectum examination to rule out blockages in the rectum, an anoscope is inserted into the rectal area. Of course there will be some discomfort but it is very bearable. The Anoscope is sort of like a torch with a viewing area. The doctor is able to see the entire anal canal.
During the procedure you may feel the urge to empty your bowels and feel pressure. This as we have mentioned before is not unbearable. In some cases a tissue sample or Biopsy is taken. Post examination the doctor can pin point whether you suffer from a case of hemorrhoids, fissure, tumours, polyps or any other disease.
